ABOUT INCOGNITA
ENTERPRISES
Based on the Mornington
Peninsula, Incognita Enterprises is an innovative, contemporary
and diverse Arts Industry business, fully committed to contributing
to the greater knowledge base of the current and next generation
of Arts practitioners through our Arts Education activities,
while providing unique, creative and challenging experiences
for Arts audiences in the medium of live theatre and theatrical
events.
Current projects include the
WWII Australian plays Bayonets & Bully Beef and 'Till
The Boys Come Home. Recent work includes the contemporary
play, Chasing
Pegasus (a play in ten chords), staged at Gasworks
and Mt Martha House in 2006 - all written by Sally McLean. These
productions are run in addition to managing our regular Drama
classes and workshops for emerging and professional actors, entitled
Acting
Up and our web design business, Salmac Multimedia.
Our filmmaking arm, Salmac Productions
comprises of an international team of independent filmmakers
from Australia, Canada, Britain and America. Our aim is to produce
a high standard of film, using experienced professionals with
the next generation of talent.
With a growing body of successful
work, including the UK film A Little Rain Must Fall (1998) (invited
to screen at the Cannes Film Festival), and Australian films
fixNATION
(2003) (screened on OutThere, Foxtel 2005, Selected:
Best of Anything Goes Film Screenings 2004, Melbourne) and Brigit
& Benny (a modern faerietale) (2005) (2005 Cannes
Film Festival Entrant, screened at The Festival of the Spirit
- USA), Salmac and Incognita's overall mission is to provide
writers, actors, theatre practitioners and filmmakers the opportunity
to create innovative and ground-breaking projects that challenge,
provoke and inspire.
