Manager - Julian Duggan
Based in Melbourne, Victoria
Julian works as a freelance Assistant Director and Production
Coordinator.
Julian's career in the film
and TV industry began at the age of 18 when he was invited to
Connecticut, USA, to work as the Directors Assistant to Sundance
winning director David Grotell on the feature film A Bad Spell.
Julian's relationship with David began during his time at the
New York Film Academy whilst attending one of their courses at
the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
Since completing his Diploma
of Screen at the Queensland School of Film & TV Julian has
worked predominantly as an Assistant Director on both local and
international feature films and television series, as well as
professional short films, tvcs and documentaries.
Recent feature film credits
include Where The Wild Things Are, Ghostrider and
Boytown. Recent television credits include Kick (SBSi),
Erotic Star (Arena TV), Rock It! (Network Ten) and
Stephen King's Nightmares & Dreamscapes (TNT). Short
films include the AFC funded Fast Lane and Almost Ready.
Julian's experience is not just
limited to film and television. He has also had the opportunity
to work with Salmac Productions on Chasing Pegasus (a play
in ten chords) (staged as part of the 2006 Melbourne Fringe
Festival). It was on this production that Julian worked alongside
lighting director Paul Hawthorne who is known for his work on
Moulin Rouge, Picnic At Hanging Rock and Jesus Christ
Superstar.
Represented by Freelancers Promotions,
Julian is also First Aid qualified (Level 2), holds a Police
Check Certificate and Working With Children Check and also has
several years of military training with the 5/6th Royal Victorian
Regiment. This training always proves extremely useful in developing
initiative, teamwork and management skills as well as stress
management.
